Epidural Steroid Injections

The primary way in which an epidural steroid injection works is by reducing inflammation. Inflammation around nerve roots causes nerve injury and pain.

Facet Joint Procedures

Zygapophseal (or facet) joint injections are a potentially therapeutic procedure. A small amount of local anesthetic is usually injected into the joint which can help provide transient relief. A small amount of corticosteroid is usually injected in addition to the local anesthetic creating a longer-term therapeutic effect.

Kyphoplasty

Kyphoplasty is a minimally invasive procedure that is performed through a small skin puncture utilizing X ray guidance to treat a vertebral compression fracture. The procedure typically takes 60 to 90 minutes to complete.

Jacob T. Rohrs, M.D.

Jacob Timothy Rohrs entered college with a passion for taking care of people and the intent to find his way to medical school. His father is a physical therapist and influenced his path into medicine from a young age. Dr. Rohrs spent summers and weekends working in the family physical therapy office, learning about anatomy, biomechanics, and musculoskeletal function. After three years of college at Villanova, he matriculated into Drexel University College of Medicine. During his time in medical school, he explored numerous specialties including General Surgery and Orthopedic Surgery but finally set his sights on physical medicine and rehabilitation as it focuses on restoring patient function without the need for major operations. Small procedures lead to a big difference in patient quality of life.

Dr Rohrs is one of the finest surgeons I have ever experienced. He has great patience and is thorough and professional. He is not a cut first Dr. His objective is to avoid surgery using other alternatives first leaving actual surgery as a last resort. No one I know has ever had just one back surgery that cured the issue. Just ask Tiger Woods who has access to the “finest” surgeons in the world and has now had 4 back surgeries. He should have gone to Barrow Brain and Spine first.
